What is hypnotherapy and does it work?

Hypnotherapy combines talking therapy with guided relaxation, imagery and focused attention to help create positive change. You remain fully aware and in control at all times. By working with the subconscious mind, hypnotherapy can often be quicker and more effective than traditional talking therapies for issues such as anxiety, stress and habits.

Is it safe?

Yes. Hypnotherapy is a safe, natural process. You cannot be made to do anything against your will, and you can come out of hypnosis at any time. Most people describe it as deeply relaxing and calming.

Will I lose control or be unconscious?

No. You are not asleep and you do not lose control. You remain aware of what is happening and able to speak throughout the session. Hypnosis is simply a focused, relaxed state of attention.

What happens in a session?

We begin with a discussion about what you would like help with and what you want to change. I will explain the process clearly before guiding you into a relaxed hypnotic state. Each session is tailored to you. After the session, you will feel calm, grounded and relaxed.

This varies from person to person. Some people notice changes quickly, while others benefit from a small course of sessions. We will review progress together and adjust as needed.

Will I receive recordings?

Yes. After each session, you will receive a personalised audio recording to listen to between sessions. Many clients find these helpful for reinforcing change and maintaining progress.
