Hypnotherapy is a combination of psychotherapy (talking therapy) together with hypnosis (imagery, relaxation techniques, and suggestions) to change your mindset. Hypnotherapy is usually quicker and more effective than the traditional forms of psychotherapy or counselling, due to accessing the subconscious.
Yes. You are always in complete control of your experience and can even reject the experience completely. Hypnotherapy is a collaborative form of treatment that I discuss with my clients beforehand. And only upon my client's express agreement, will we commence the treatment.
Most of the time, the treatments are carried out over the course of 6 sessions. That being said, some clients require more sessions, others less. After each session, I send a recording for you to listen to and so, you will find, that after the completion of treatment you will have around 6 recordings to listen to, thus enabling you to continue to make changes (via my recordings and/or your own ability to use self-hypnosis) even after the treatment is complete.
During the initial consultation, we will discuss your reasons for wanting hypnotherapy. We will also discuss your aims and goals, including the thoughts and feelings you are looking to have. I will then explain more about hypnotherapy and what you can expect from my sessions. After the initial consultation, I will guide you into hypnosis, after which, you will feel incredibly relaxed, calm and peaceful. As I will be working with your subconscious mind, change is not often very noticeable at first. Initially, you may only notice very subtle changes. However, at the end of the course of treatment, the change should be very noticeable.
