Many people describe a sudden racing heart, tight chest, dizziness, or the sense that something terrible is about to happen.
These experiences can make it feel as if you are losing control, when in fact they are your body’s natural alarm system reacting too strongly.
Panic attacks are closely linked to the body’s fight-or-flight response. When the nervous system becomes stuck in a heightened state of alert, the brain can begin reacting as if there is danger even when there isn’t.
The good news is that this response can be retrained.
Clinical hypnotherapy helps calm the nervous system and teach the mind new patterns of response, allowing the body to gradually move out of constant alert mode.
